Ginger Update: Tuesday AM

As far as storms go, Ginger did not bring the snow as we hoped she would. We started to feel less confident last night about this storm, and those fears were realized overnight. Rte 7 is wet but clear in Williamstown and it has stopped snowing in most places in the county.

There is still a patch of snow and some mixed sleet headed our way, as a result of the coastal low, which has now formed. This would make a delay a good choice still despite the low snow totals. We think the Winter Storm Warning will be lifted later this morning.

No schools in the Berkshires have posted delays (or cancellations) yet. Closest to us: Mohawk Trail has closed; Hoosick Falls (NY) called the day off; Berlin went with a 2-hr. delay. If Berlin only delayed, then you know this isn't that serious of a storm.

We will add school names to this post as the pronouncements come in.

Central Berkshire (CLOSED)
Adams-Cheshire (CLOSED)
BART (CLOSED)
So. Berkshire (2-hr Delay)

  1. 80% for a delay, 50% for a snow day? Really GSD? Thanks for building us up just to crush us. You really dropped the ball. I know its going to take a lot to gain my trust back, and all your viewers, if you are able to at all. Which I doubt.

  2. How about the North Adams school District?

  3. Apparently Anonymous forgot to do their homework and is a little upset their district didn't have the day off. Good calls all the way around, GSD. You do the hard work when no one else will. And Anonymous, meteorology has come a long way, but if you can tell me one person who can correctly predict every snowstorm, then you my friend should quit your day job and cash in, because meteorology is far from a sure thing. GSD staff does a pretty good job! - Happy in North County.

    1. You are one hundred percent on target with everything you said. I'm really sorry GSD, but my snowday-dissapointment peaked when I realized that in all likelyhood we won't have a single snow day this winter at mountgreylock. I'm going to continue checking this site everytime a storm presents itself because you guys really are the most accurate meteorologists around. Again, I'm really sorry about what I said, and don't stop doing what you do, because you guys are great at it!
